In a shocking revelation, former Scientology member and Troublemaker author Leah Remini has shed light on an alleged scheme within the controversial Church that is linked to popular action star Tom Cruise. Court documents obtained by the New York Post revealed that the 53-year-old actress alleged she was forced to raise funds for the institution, specifically to have an auditorium seat named after Cruise’s estranged daughter, Suri.
Scientology Allegedly Forced Donations to Name a Seat After Tom Cruise’s Daughter
Tom Cruise’s relationship with his 17-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise, has been the subject of many headlines this year. The actor shares his daughter with his ex-wife, Katie Holmes, who was reportedly given primary custody of Suri after their divorce.
Reports earlier this year claimed that the actor has attempted to bond with his estranged daughter. And the former Scientologist, Leah Remini, now claimed in her lawsuit that the Church forced her to donate money “for Scientology causes led by Tom Cruise,” as per the New York Post.
The forced donations were specifically associated with naming a “seat in a Scientology auditorium after Suri Cruise.” The alleged pressure occurred after Remini raised questions about the noticeable absence of Shelly Miscavige, the wife of church leader David Miscavige, during Cruise and Katie Holmes’ marriage.
A Scientology spokesperson has denied claims made in her lawsuit, saying that they are “ludicrous and allegations are pure lunacy.” However, it is not the first time The King of Queens actress has raised such questions. Earlier in 2020, Lemini claimed that the Mission Impossible actor had a “master plan” to lure his 17-year-old daughter into the institution.
Leah Remini Claimed Tom Cruise Has a Master Plan to Get Suri into Scientology
Tom Cruise has been estranged from his daughter, Suri Cruise, after his separation from his ex-wife, Katie Holmes. The actress reportedly feared that the Church of Scientology would influence her daughter the same way it did to her marriage to the action star.
However, actress Leah Remini later claimed that the actor reportedly had a master plan to get Suri Cruise into Scientology. “I’m sure his master plan is to wait until Suri gets older,” she claimed, according to Marca. She also stated, “So that he can lure her into Scientology and away from her mother.”
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise got married in November 2006 after they welcomed their daughter Suri the same year. They were married for nearly six years before they announced their separation in 2012. While Holmes was reportedly granted primary custody of their daughter, Cruise was afforded ample visitation. However, reports claim that he hardly saw his daughter after their split.
