Avengers: Secret Wars is one of the most anticipated movies in the history of the superhero genre, especially after all the events that have happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. However, they couldn’t be more wrong about it all. As it turns out, there are a lot of characters and their respective arcs in this particular comic book, each exploring different betrayals and deaths of multiple characters. That being said, those Pedro Pascal fans hoping to see a Reed-Doom feud prevailing beware, for a lot more twists are to come than just this.

Avengers: Secret Wars Comic Includes a Lot of Deaths and Betrayals

While the rest of the storylines and series in Marvel Comics hold some really complex twists and turns, the Secret Wars comic miniseries surpasses all of that. Starting from the cosmic entity the Beyonder creating a planet called Battleworld that is stacked with incredible technology and weapons, the saga holds some deeply complicated arcs.

For instance, besides the Beyonder, it comprises a league of heroes that includes Captain America, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Iron Man, the She-Hulk, Thor, the Wasp, the Hulk, Human Torch, Mister Fantastic, the Thing, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Colossus, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Professor X, Rogue, Storm, Wolverine, and Lockheed the Dragon.

Then there’s the villain ensemble, which includes the likes of the Absorbing Man, Doctor Doom, Doctor Octopus, the Enchantress, Kang the Conqueror, Klaw, the Lizard, the Molecule Man, Titania, Ultron, Volcana, the Wrecking Crew, as well as the non-aligned entity Galactus.

But even these distinguishable leagues aren’t established without problems of their own.

As seen through the limited comic book crossover series published from May 1984 to April 1985, this storyline encompasses a lot of deaths and betrayals. That mentioned, the upcoming Avengers 6 could just incorporate all of these elements resulting in a film that is not just based on the rivalry between Reed and Doom, as Pedro Pascal fans may be expecting.

Some of the betrayals, deaths, and rebirths include Ultron getting drained of energy by Galactus; Doom and Galactus confronting the Beyonder and failing; Kang blasting Doom to the heroes’ base; Doom rebuilding Ultron along with creating Titania and Volcana; Doom having Ultron kill Kang as payback and him stealing the Beyonder’s powers, among others.

Then there are also events of the 2015-16 Secret Wars storyline, which features Maker betraying Mister Fantastic and devolving him into an ape before Molecule Man intervenes to save Mister Fantastic and splitting Maker into slices. And, interestingly enough, that is just one of the many betrayals and twists that take place in this subsequence comic series.
