Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror was positioned to be the Thanos-level threat for the Multiverse Saga. However, given that Disney has cut all ties with the actor in the wake of his conviction, the race for who would be the next big Avengers antagonist has been thrown wide open.

There are two tiers of the conversation surrounding the fate of the main antagonist of the Multiverse Saga. Despite Kang Dynasty no longer being the title for Avengers 5, a certain number of fans are still sure that Marvel will simply recast Jonathan Majors and continue with their plans as they were, while another section of the fandom is busy speculating who would take Kang’s place as the new multiversal villain.

There have been plenty of rumors that Colman Domingo is in talks with the Marvel Cinematic Universe to appear as Kang the Conqueror in place of Jonathan Majors. Domingo is one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood and would serve as the perfect replacement for Jonathan Majors. The actor has been nominated for an Academy Award and won an Emmy for his work in Euphoria.

However, it remains to be seen whether Marvel is going to go ahead with Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To begin with, while Majors was praised for his performances before his conviction, the actor failed to make an impact with Kang, causing a lot of fans to believe that the character was an improper successor to Josh Brolin‘s Thanos.

However, there are a host of villains and characters in Marvel comics that could be adapted instead of Kang, and given the number of films that are releasing before Avengers 5, Marvel will have enough time to tease these characters in a way that feels organic,

Molecule Man played an immensely important role in Secret Wars (2015). The character, who is nigh omnipotent, exists as a singularity across multiple dimensions, making him an extremely dangerous character. In the comics, the character was responsible for reality-breaking incursions and functioned very similarly to the Scarlet Witch in the MCU.

Essentially being a nexus being, Colman Domingo could play the character, replacing Jonathan Majors’ Kang, since that threat has been tied up neatly thanks to Loki. However, Marvel Studios will have to look into some creative ways of introducing the character as a main villain of the Multiverse Saga. Some important films where the character could be teased are Doctor Strange 3, Thor 5, The Fantastic Four, and even Deadpool & Wolverine
