Marvel’s first family, aka the Fantastic Four, is ready to step into the world of MCU for the first time. Starring Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, the film will be based on a different timeline and age. Despite not being set in the present, the inclusion of the team in the MCU is exciting enough.

While fans are excited, they are pleased to know a bit of behind-the-scenes details that Moss-Bachrach recently revealed. And the detail does make the whole thing all the more exciting!
Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Confession about Previous Fantastic Four Adaptations

The Fantastic Four has already been brought to live-action twice and through three films, released in 2005, 2007, and 2015. All of these films have not been able to enjoy the amount of success or appreciation that one would have expected, for they failed to capture the true essence of the characters and their comic book tales.
But that, hopefully, is going to change as Marvel Studios is officially bringing the team to the fold of MCU through their upcoming flick, Fantastic Four: First Steps. Not an origin story, the film will be set up in the 1960s, and stars the Emmy-winning star Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing.
Recently making his first public appearance along with the rest of his cast mates at Comic-Con 2024, the actor revealed to Entertainment Weekly a little tidbit about the process while making an honest confession about the previous Fantastic Four adaptations.
I haven’t seen those movies. When I got hired to do this, it didn’t feel like that would be productive to watch those movies. People ask me about ‘How is this different from those other ones?’ and I don’t think it’s helpful to make something in opposition to something else.
This confession of his makes the whole thing even more exciting, for it would be better for the actor to play the character based on his perception instead of taking notes from the previous iterations.
We’re really just making our own specific thing. This is no discredit to those movies. But we’re telling our own very specific story. Like any great play, you can cast a play with four people, and then recast it with four different people, and it’s the same play, but it’s a completely different experience.
Well, the actor is not wrong since bringing a fresh perspective to the character and the story seems like a truly exhilarating idea. After Moss-Bachrach’s comments went viral, even fans appreciated the actors’ approach towards the film.
Fans Appreciate Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Approach to Fantastic Four

Marvel’s first family, aka the Fantastic Four, has not been easier to adapt, since the past movies have proven how difficult it has been to satisfy fans’ expectations when it comes to them. With the team finally coming into the MCU, fans have some huge expectations from the upcoming flick.
However, much of their anticipation and questions about the film seem to have subsided, given the recent remarks made by actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach. When his comments from his latest interview went viral, this is how Marvel fans reacted:
Seems like a good idea honestly

I think it’ll be better to not have a skewed performance influenced by the previous movies!!!

Good man! I really don’t recommend it. (They’re trash)

He's right. He's doing the character from the comics, not based on the other movies.

While fans appreciate the actor and his approach towards the story, it is commendable of him to instead take notes from the original character in the comic books. With this level of passion and creativity behind the scenes, we cannot wait to see how this new take on the Fantastic Four unfolds in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fantastic Four is slated to hit the screens on July 25, 2025.
