Sex Education season 4 is finally back on our screens, and fans are going crazy, binge-watching like there’s no tomorrow because this is the grand finale.

The Season 4 arrived on Netflix on Thursday, 21st September 2023, to answer all your questions. The best part? It dropped all eight episodes in one binge-worthy box set.

In the last episode of Season 3, it looked like Maeve (Emma Mackey) and Otis (Asa Butterfield) would finally be a couple. Otis admitted how he started the sex clinic to be near Maeve, and they reconciled. Maeve decides to move in with Anna, who’s taking care of her little sister Elsie, and give her relationship with Otis a shot.

Now, Sex Education season 4 is the end of an era with a whole new school, fresh faces in the mix, and some brand-new love stories to keep us hooked. The season also gives vital importance to LGBTQ spaces and really hit the mark with trans representation.

It looks like all these elements of Season 4 make it worth watching, but those who have already binge-watched it had a bittersweet experience with it.

Fans had their hopes high, but it seems like Sex Education season 4 didn’t bring the laughs and love they were craving.

Now that the final season of Sex Education has finally been released, many people are unsatisfied with its storyline — claiming it shifted to darker and more serious. This season has also received lower scores, with a drop in audience score to 40%. An X user (@obrienvm24) wrote:

“So #SexEducation final season was kind of disappointing but at least we had more Ruby screen time and kind of her own storyline. Apart from that, this season finale was forgettable.”

Another user wrote on X user (@HenrysReviews23):

“#SexEducation Season 4 is sadly an underwhelming final installment for one of Netflix’s best. In a closing chapter that should focus on the shows favoured characters, relationships and threads, it instead finds itself focusing too much on new stories that don’t ever really develop.”

Here are a few posts on X that show a visible disappointment toward the season:

Besides this, many are also happy about the increased timings of the character Ruby. But fans also claimed that the last season was a bit of a letdown. Why? Well, it focused more on new stories, and they felt it didn’t give enough love to the stories developing for the last three seasons.
