After a long wait, Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is finally gearing up for release this year. After being in development for quite some time, the devs revealed that the game would be developed on the Unreal Engine 5. At the GDC 2023 event, a 68-second video showcasing Senua’s realistic-looking facial animations was also launched.
Earlier this year, Ninja Theory and Microsoft confirmed that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will hit the shelves on May 21, 2024, exclusively on the Xbox Series X/S and PC. It has also been confirmed that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be made available on day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Talking of the Unreal Engine 5, it was made available for all game developers during the State of Unreal 2022 event. The latest version of the game engine is a leap forward when it comes to crafting geometry, lighting, and animation. That being said, interestingly, Hellblade 2 isn’t the only Unreal Engine 5 game to be released in 2024.
MultiVersus
After a successful open beta, MultiVersus is all set to launch in 2024. The final version of the game will introduce quite a few new features. Apart from the introduction of new characters and stages, the upcoming game will include PvE content.
As the name suggests, MultiVersus is primarily designed to be multiplayer, however, it will have a few single-player options. Additionally, the developers, Player First Games, have also confirmed that MultiVersus will make use of Unreal Engine 5. Thus players can expect a lot of realistic visuals and enhanced gameplay.
MultiVersus arrives on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows on May 28, 2024.
Black Myth: Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong was first revealed in 2020, and ever since its community has been eagerly awaiting its launch. The game is said to be an adaptation, of the famous novel Journey to the West. It is an action-adventure game that has demonstrated impressive visual details and intense boss fights.
Notably, Black Myth has also been compared to FromSoftware’s Dark Souls series on many occasions. As a result, gamers are eager to see how the game matches the iconic Dark Souls franchise. The developers confirmed that Black Myth is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 in August 2021. This added to the hype and anticipation surrounding the title.
The game is being developed by Game Science and is scheduled to hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows on August 20, 2024.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl
Another awaited Unreal Engine 5 game coming in 2024 is Stalker 2. It was one of Microsoft’s biggest reveals during E3 2021, wherein the company released its first-ever trailer. The trailer was lauded for its striking visuals. It was also confirmed that it was in development with Unreal Engine 5.
Notably, Stalker 2 is one of the most anticipated Unreal Engine 5 games since the game engine seems to be a better fit for open-world projects, and Stalker 2 is just that. The long-awaited sequel was initially scheduled to be released in December 2022, but, was postponed indefinitely due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
Finally, GSC Game World is all set to release the title on PC, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X on September 5, 2024.
