WWE wrestlers are no less than superstars themselves and enjoy a huge fan following similar to actors or other sportsmen. Seth Rollins is one wrestler who has an incredible fan following and influence across the world, thanks to his incredible feats in the squared circle.
However, his popularity has not saved him from malicious fans, for the WWE giant was once tackled by a fan who accused the wrestler of taking his money. While the fan later apologized, Rollins instead stated in an interview how bad he felt for the one who attacked him and hoped the fan got the much-deserved help.
Seth Rollins Felt Sorry For One Fan Who Attacked Him
Seth Rollins is among the few stars of WWE who truly make the sport what it is now. Ever since the wrestler first entered the ring, he has shown incredible athleticism, agility, and dedication, leading him to win several championships and accolades. His success, hence, has brought him a huge and loyal fan base.
Yet the wrestler had to face a horrendous experience back in an episode of RAW in 2021, when a fan, Elisah Spencer attacked the wrestler, apparently accusing him of allegedly stealing his money after falling for a catfishing scam back in 2019 after meeting the wrestler. He was asked by ‘Rollins’ to send him gift cards worth $3,000 (via The Daily News).
While thankfully, the security intervened and Rollins was unhurt (see X), the wrestler later stated he felt sorry for the fan who attacked him during an interview with the Daily Mail Sport,
“That guy needed help for himself, I hope he’s gotten some since then but he’s some help and to take care of himself mentally and he’s in a position where he’s not thinking those kinds of thoughts. I felt really bad for him and the situation he was in, his inability to cope with it as a fully mentally stable person would.”
The World Heavyweight Champion later also expressed his gratitude for the security squad, who intervened just in time.
Seth Rollins Feels A Lot Of Sympathy For Fan Who Attacked Him
While talking to the Daily News, Elisah Spencer, the fan who attacked Rollins stated he was trying to help the wrestler’s rival by attacking him during the WWE RAW segment. The fans later apologized to WWE for his actions and Rollins in an interview with TMZ expressed it was a terrifying experience.
However, during his chat with the Daily Mail Sport, the wrestler stated he just felt a lot of sympathy for Spencer.
“I felt a lot of sympathy for him in the moment. I was thankful obviously it didn’t turn out worse than it did, thankfully security and the referees were there pretty quickly and got him off me before it was able to turn any more violent than it had.”
As unfortunate as it is to see that such incidents occur, it is commendable to witness Rollins’ compassionate and empathetic response to the fan who attacked him.
Despite the apparent difference between a celebrity and a normal human being, it is important to remember that celebrities and sportsmen are human beings too, and are equally deserving of respect and privacy just like everyone else.
