Based on the popular comic of the same name, Armor Wars would see James Rhodes fighting multiple organizations trying to steal Tony Stark’s technology after his death. While only Cheadle was confirmed to appear in the film, many speculated that characters such as Nick Fury and Riri Williams would make an appearance. Justin Hammer, who was played by Sam Rockwell in Iron Man 2 was also rumored to make an appearance (via ScreenRant).

Rhodes was last seen in the Disney Plus series Secret Invasion and was at odds with Nick Fury. Though there has been little information about specific plot details of Armor Wars, a recent scoop revealed that 2021’s runaway hit Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings would have a lead for the film. According to X user Marvel Updates, the Simu Liu starrer’s post-credit scene would tie into the Armor Wars, with the Ten Rings being involved.

“The second post-credit scene of Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings will tie into ‘ARMOR WARS’. In the movie, there will be several organizations that will try to steal the Stark technology.”

The post-credit scene in question sees Shang-Chi’s sister Xu Xialing take over the Ten Rings organization from their father Wenwu, despite promising to disband it. Xialing enters the main chamber of the organization and says that they have work to do, after which the camera reveals a new and improved Ten Rings, which includes female martial artists.

The end of the scene mentioned that the Ten Rings would return. According to the scoop by Marvel Updates, the Ten Rings could be one of the organizations that aim to steal Tony Stark’s designs and technology. The organization has already dealt with Tony Stark before in the Iron Man films, where he escapes from the Afghanistan cell of the organization.
