Elden Ring‘s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is finally here, and fans are excited to finally jump back into the action. The latest expansion brings an incredible narrative, bringing twists and monsters that we have never seen before. However, one of the major highlights of Shadow of the Erdtree is the new weapons.
Just like any FromSoftware DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree brings players many new weapons, each packing an incredible power and playstyle. Of course, the DLC comes with some good late-game weapons, but you can get your hands on some early stuff to steamroll through your enemies.
So, if you’ve just started Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, here are the top 5 weapons that you must pick up straight away to guarantee your victory in The Land of Shadow.
5. Beast Claws
Beast Claws is arguably one of the best melee fist weapons that can turn your character into a rampaging barbarian. They deal a series of quick and lethal strikes that can do bleeding damage and allow you to make a leaping attack to quickly close the gap between distances.
You can find Beast Claws by starting from the Gravesite Site of Grace, where you start Shadow of the Erdtree. From there, go slightly South and then East. You’ll run into a wooded area dubbed Gravesite Plain, where you must face off against Logur, The Beast Claw. Eliminate him, and the claws are yours.
4. Backhand Blade
Don’t be fooled by Backhand Blade’s simplicity; it’s an incredibly lethal weapon. If you’re someone who loves Perfumer’s Bottle from the base game, you’re going to love Firespark Perfumer’s Bottle in Shadow of the Erdtree. It’s one of the best weapons that allows you to quickly spread the fire around you, damaging your opponents with lethal fire damage. The weapon’s skill, Kick, will let you kick your foes!
You can acquire this weapon inside a Perfumer’s camp right before you head inside Castle Ensis. Once you make it through the bridge, you can locate the camp on your right side.
1. Smithscript Dagger
The Smithscript Dagger is a wonderful early weapon. It’s quick, light, and one of the only few weapons in the DLC that scales with all four of your primary weapons. On its own, it might not be the most powerful option you can pick. You can find Smithscript Dagger in the area South of Castle Ensis. After you’ve crossed the bridge that goes to the Castle Ensis bridge, take a right and ride until you make it to a nearby cliff. Enter the Ruined Forge Lava Intake dungeon, and proceed until you come across a body guarded by enemies. This body contains the Smithscript Dagger.
