Players of Elden Ring are overwhelmed with joy as the studio has announced how they will finally be releasing a gameplay trailer of the much anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree DLC today. Premiering on Bandai Namco Europe’s YouTube channel, FromSoftware will be releasing a 3-minute footage of what the DLC would look and feel like.
Fans of the game also hope that the coming extension will finally be coming with some of the answers they have been waiting for. One such question is how George R.R. Martin, the writer of the game’s backstory, might have trolled the whole player base with one single Easter egg.
How George R.R. Martin Might Have Trolled The Whole Player Base Of Elden Ring
George R.R. Martin is a unique face to be found in the gaming industry, as he is more popularly known for his other phenomenal works such as Game of Thrones, and The House of the Dragon. Despite being heavily involved in the western part of the world, he agreed to set up the backstory for Elden Ring, delivering to us the storyline we know and love.
However, in a speculation plotted out by this user on Reddit, Martin might have hidden a secret Easter egg in the game that remains hidden in plain sight to this day. They pointed out how all the 4 major shard bearers of The Lands Between, namely Godfrey, Radagon, Rennala, and Marika make up the word “GRRM” when you take the first word of every name. The word also corresponds with the initials of none other than George R.R. Martin, who created these characters to begin with.
While it remains speculated, it is still pretty bizarre to be a coincidence and proves the capability of Martin and his works. With the release of the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC coming sooner than ever now, players hope that we get to see more of his brilliance in the extended content.
