So far, players have been flocking over to Baldur’s Gate 3 for many reasons that would take too long to list. But one of the main reasons players have been enjoying Baldur’s Gate 3 is the fact that they can choose to romance pretty much anyone and anything, just like in a real DND campaign. However, not all of the companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 have been so easily convinced, until now.

In a game like Baldur’s Gate 3, many gamers see it as a way to live out their fantasies by being able to battle enemies, romance characters they fancy, and get all-out weird in some cases. Due to this, players have taken the opportunity to do as they see fit when it comes to romancing their party members. It’s something Larian Studios, the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3, have encouraged since day one.

With this opportunity set before most players, many will see a companion like Shadowheart, who is a half-elf Cleric, as a chance to romance someone unique within the story of Baldur’s Gate 3. This isn’t to say there aren’t more unique companions, since we have Tieflings, Vampires, Githyanki, and even a bear, who can be romanced throughout the game. But gamers who are looking for what seems to be a slightly more humanoid relationship, will point towards Shadowheart. That is if she wasn’t so hard to flirt with!

Up until the most recent patch, there have been known issues regarding Shadowheart and her reluctance to jump into bed with you. This has caused a lot of frustration with players, as it takes a scarce situation to create a link with Shadowheart, and for most, that situation wasn’t occurring. But now, due to this patch, the problem has been resolved giving players a sigh of relief in more ways than one. They can finally romance Shadowheart, the way the game intended.

What Has Been Changed to Make Shadowheart Easier to Romance?

If Shadowheart is your ride or die in Baldur's Gate 3, then you should rest assured knowing her standards have been lowered.

Throughout the most recent patch, there have been numerous small updates to the game to fix minuscule issues that can cause players some distress. However, nothing will slow down their overall progress in the main game itself. Thanks to these issues regarding Shadowheart, many players felt cheated in a way as all of their hard work trying to romance their companion was all for nothing. This is certainly not something you want in a fantasy game, when your fantasies cannot come true.

To create a fix for this issue, there has been a, update to “story flow and logic“, which will adjust the known issues regarding Shadowheart. It will fix certain animations that weren’t supposed to trigger during scenes and clean up certain instances of dialogue. This will also ensure she doesn’t hand over a mysterious artifact when she isn’t supposed to.

Thankfully, due to these patches, many gamers will now be able to enjoy Baldur’s Gate 3 and their relations with their companions as the developers intended. Many players have put a lot of hours into their current game saves and to have them ruined by Shadowheart saying the wrong thing or doing the wrong thing is quite a bummer, unless you are into that sort of thing.
