Spoiler Alert !!!
The following article has spoilers for One Piece Episode 1112!

Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece continues to surprise the world as its latest episode, 1112, decided to feature one of the coldest storylines in the entire series. The episode featured the long-awaited rematch between Eustass Kid and Red-Haired Shanks, where the latter defeated his foe as well as his crew with a single strike.

While the Captain of the Kid Pirates displayed his strength against Red-Hair’s fleet, the overwhelming strength and Haki of one of the Conquerors of the Sea were too much for him. Hence, he brought his adventure on the Grand Line to an end.

Some fans were content with how Oda-Sensei decided to bid farewell to one of the most notorious names from The Worst Generation. However, others have started to draw theories about how Shanks is not as strong as he was shown in the latest episode.

One Piece Fans Theorize On How Shanks Was Overhyped in Episode 1112

In the long run of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, episode 1112 was the first episode that showcased Shanks in a full-fledged fight where he obliterated Eustass Kid and Killer, along with his crew with Kamusari (Divine Departure).

The fight had brought the fandom together because they all praised the animation studio for going all out and even praising Red-Hair for his swordsman skills. Nevertheless, fans have now come to the conclusion that Yonko might not be as strong as he was showcased in the recent fight.

Well, one of the key reasons that the fans are theorizing this is that his Divine Departure was considerably weaker compared to Gol D. Roger, The Pirate King. Though he won against the Kid Pirates, it was the shortcoming of the Eustass Kid’s railgun, where he had to wait 10 seconds before he could fire for a second time.

Moreover, if fans remember during the Wano Country Arc, during one of the flashback scenes, Roger used the same attack, which sent Oden flying. However, Oden, being a tank, quickly recovered and joined in the fight.

In addition to using a Haki attack covered in Conqueror’s Haki, Shanks also used an advanced level of Kenbunshoku Haki, which allowed him to see the future and made him take the necessary action to change it in his favor. Had he not used the Kenbunshoku Haki, the outcome of the rematch would have been significantly different, with some people even believing Kid would have come out as the victor.

Fans React To Shanks’ Over-Exaggerated Power Level in Episode 1112

The recent episode 1112, titled Clash! Shanks vs. Eustass Kid, has received one of the highest IMDb ratings, which is 9.9/10, which is quite a normal feat for Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus.

However, the godly aura of the Yonko of the Sea has compelled the fans to come up with an explanation that has made them believe that Shanks is not at all on Roger’s level or even close to him. They left their opinion on Pew’s (@pewpiece) on X, where they had shared a post praising the master and the student.

Some fans were content with how Oda-Sensei decided to bid farewell to one of the most notorious names from The Worst Generation. However, others have started to draw theories about how Shanks is not as strong as he was shown in the latest episode.

One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
