It looks like the future of Vanessa and Wade Wilson is hanging on by a thread, despite the film hinting at their reconciliation in the epilogue. If Morena Baccarin is looking for a role in the superhero universe with more meat, she might have to make the switch to the DCU, or as Ryan Reynolds said, the “sh-t fu-ks down the street.
If Morena Baccarin plans on switching gears and shifting into the DCU, she already has a role in her mind that would be perfect for her – Catwoman. As it turns out, fans would love nothing more than the actress donning the black suit and heading over to the DCU to cause some trouble.
Morena Baccarin Wants to Play Catwoman
Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie sat down at Fan Expo Canada where they were interviewed by Maggie Lovitt. During the conversation, Baccarin revealed that there is one DC character she has her eye on – Catwoman.
She stated, “She’s just perfect,” and we can’t help but wonder that Baccarin would make a great Catwoman. Consider us on board! This is not the first time the actress has shown her interest in the character.

Back in 2018, she joined Cinepop for an interview where she was asked if she would like to play a superhero anytime soon. However, she surprised the fandom by stating that she had no interest in playing a hero and that she’d be much better off bringing a villain to life. Baccarin said, “I identify more with the villains, Poison Ivy and Catwoman.”
Another instance where Baccarin talked about playing the badass character was on her Instagram Live, years ago (via GeekTyrant). When a fan asked whether it was true that she has always wanted to play Catwoman, the Deadpool & Wolverine actress replied, “It’s so true! I’ve wanted to play Catwoman forever.”
The last time we saw Catwoman in the DCU, she was played by Zoë Kravitz in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. However, it has been confirmed that Reeves’ Batman films are not canon with the DCU and are a part of the Elseworlds projects. Clearly, there is plenty of space in the superhero universe to bring in one more Catwoman.
Morena Baccarin Has Fans’ Full Support
After the Homeland actress revisited her desire to play Catwoman recently, the idea quickly caught fire, causing fans to rally behind the casting saying that she has the perfect comic-accurate short hair and her height.
While the physical aspects do match with the comic book counterpart, the only thing concerning some fans – is her age. At 45, the necessary stunts and young physicality of Catwoman will be hard to match.
These minor concerns are countered by the idea that Baccarin’s experience and nuances will prove that a slightly older Catwoman could redefine how we see female superheroes, by focusing on a more cunning character over just a physical one.
The actress also has previous experience in the Batman universe as she played the role of Leslie Thompkins in the series, Gotham.

Honestly, Baccarin would make a great Catwoman. She’s got the looks for it and of course, with films like Deadpool and Greenland under her name, there’s no doubt regarding her talents as an actress. All we have to do now is get this idea to James Gunn.
