In a recent interview with Elle Magazine, when asked about the genre, the actress claimed that it’s just a phase that ran for too long and people will soon get sick of it.

“It’s a phase. It’s a phase that’s lasted a little too long for me, but it’s a phase, and I’ve seen so many different phases. Hopefully people will be sick of it soon. The good ones—like Iron Man, Black Panther, The Matrix—I marvel at those movies, and I’m swept up in the entertainment of it, but that’s not why I became an actor. And those movies don’t change my life. Hopefully there’ll be room for everything else.”
Even though she named a few movies like Iron Man and Black Panther as exceptions, her perspective was quite clear to the audience. Although the inclusion of The Matrix in the list of superhero movies and naming Black Panther as a good superhero movie is quite debatable, the more important point that was raised was the entertainment factor.

Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino have also commented negatively against Marvel and superhero movies earlier.
