Divorce will always be messy, especially for high-profile controversies such as that of Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied. Some fans believe the Thor actress is ready to turn over a new leaf, but insiders claim she is having second thoughts about the divorce.
Portman’s relationship with her French husband has been shaken by cheating allegations, and they have been finding it difficult to reconcile. The couple married in August 2012 after meeting on the set of Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan (2009). Millepied was the choreographer who taught Portman how to dance ballet.

Insiders from Radar Online reveal that Natalie Portman wants to do a “trial separation” in the meantime as it seems like the “best solution at this point.” The source also added:
“It’s been very difficult to hold on to her marriage — and painful to let it go. She’s stuck in the middle. She doesn’t want to throw it all away, but she’s also desperately unhappy and having serious trust issues.”
Portman is reportedly having a difficult time coming to a decision “because of the children” as she shares two kids with Benjamin Millepied. Another insider told People that they are still living together despite the cheating issues:
“He knows he made an enormous mistake, and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together. Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy.”
After Portman was spotted going out without her wedding ring, fans started to speculate that something fishy has been going on. The insider also shared:

“I met my husband on it, so I think I was in, like, dreamland. He was teaching me to dance. You know, one of those romantic [stories]. It was definitely exciting and fun. It was beautiful. I don’t know about instant. It was like I really got to know him, and that was when it seemed like, ‘Oh this is the person.’”
As the struggling couple deals with their marriage problems through a trial separation, sources claim that Millepied is doing everything to get Portman to forgive him for his actions. The actress, however, remains silent regarding the situation.
