Fans React to Winona Ryder Allegedly Sidelining Millie Bobby Brown in a Latest Interview

Winona Ryder can easily be the biggest cinephile there is at the moment, and she wants the younger generation of actors to be the same. This emotion of the actress has been on full display since she’s been promoting Tim Burton’s upcoming sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Ryder lamented how some of the younger actors she’s worked with are not interested in watching movies. Whether it be Jenna Ortega in the Beetlejuice sequel, or the Stranger Things cast. She added (via Esquire) that she has “gone from being the youngest person on set to being the oldest.”

The actress did the interview to promote the upcoming Tim Burton flick. But given her involvement in Stranger Things, it was only natural that she also talked about the supernatural sci-fi show. While praising it, she added:

Ten years! I never thought. [At first] I was like, ‘I don’t want to be doing this when I’m in my fifties!’ It’s nuts, and its extra nuts to be my age. But I love the boys and I love [the actors] Sadie [Sink] and Maya [Hawke]. It’s been really wonderful.

As soon as this comment was out in the open, fans quickly pointed out how the legendary actress overlooked Millie Bobby Brown while praising other actresses. This sparked a series of comments suggesting an alleged feud between the duo.

When Film Updates posted a snippet of the interview on X, fans quickly rushed to the comments section to share their sentiments on the matter.

While there could be a number of reasons why Ryder did not mention Millie Bobby Brown by name, fans online quickly picked up on her tone and wondered whether all was well between the duo.

The actress talked about how she’s not happy with younger actors being disinterested in watching movies. Some are tying this to Millie Bobby Brown’s past interview with The Sun, where she revealed that she doesn’t watch movies.

Both of them have not addressed the feud rumors publicly. However, it could also be that, instead of a rift, they are simply very busy at the moment, which may have caused them to lose contact. But for now, the public can only speculate.

Winona Ryder Shared Her Thoughts on the Beetlejuice Sequel

After nearly three decades, viewers will see Winona Ryder reprise her iconic Lydia Deetz role in Burton’s upcoming Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Despite this, the actress had doubts about whether a sequel would ever be made.

In an interview with Comic Book, she detailed how, despite her doubts, the sequel perfectly aligned with the arrival of Jenna Ortega. She added:

There were a lot of times when I had sort of gotten my hopes up and, but there was never, I felt like it was sort of this kismet fate because I realized that we had to wait for Jenna [Ortega] to be born and grow up. Because she really just fit, she sort of completed this puzzle, you know. She was such an amazing addition.

In the same interview, she also touched upon her fantastic working relationship with director Tim Burton. She added that despite the huge buzz surrounding the movie, the filmmaker was able to recreate the same magic of the original film. Further, she appreciated that his approach to filmmaking allowed them to work freely without any studio interference.

The entire idea of a Beetlejuice sequel has been in discussion since the original was released in 1988. Additionally, she had secret meetings with Burton to get the sequel made, something that even her own agents were unaware of.

Ryder’s anticipation for the Beetlejuice sequel was so significant that she informed the Stranger Things creators she would only join the cast if she could also work on Beetlejuice 2. To her surprise, they agreed, and she was able to take on both projects.
