People have been concerned about the Princess of Wales since she underwent a planned abdominal surgery earlier this year, with the Royal family keeping details about the surgery undisclosed.
The rumors only intensified after Kensington Palace shared Middleton’s first post-surgery image, which was later revealed to be edited. Although Middleton apologized for experimenting with editing, it has failed to stamp out the ongoing concerns or controversies surrounding the 42-year-old British royal.
Meghan Markle Reportedly Reached Out to Kate Middleton
Amid the constant rumors about Kate Middleton’s health and the controversy surrounding her first post-surgery image, the Duchess of Sussex has reportedly reached out several times to the Princess of Wales to offer her support.
Scandals of the Royal Palaces author Tom Quinn recently told The Mirror that Meghan Markle has attempted to contact Middleton in hopes of improving their relationship amid several health rumors.
“Meghan has reached out several times via back channels to Kensington Palace in an attempt to see if there is any chance of getting on better terms with Kate.”
Quinn also claimed that while the initiative is partly driven by Markle’s genuine concern about her health, she also sees it as an opportunity to change her public image towards the royal family. “Meghan is genuinely worried about Kate’s health,” he said before adding, “But she also sees a chance to lose her permanently angry-at-the-royals image.”
Markle and Middleton have reportedly not been on talking terms since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their royal duties and later relocated to California in 2020. So far, it remains uncertain if Markle’s efforts to reconcile will succeed or not.
Quinn suggested that while Middleton may not want to appear dismissive of these attempts, the prevailing advice within Kensington Palace is to proceed with caution. However, another insider has claimed otherwise, arguing that the Princess of Wales would likely ignore any advances of the Suits star.
Meghan Markle’s Alleged Attempts to Reconcile Facing Uncertain Reception
Following the claims that Meghan Markle has reached out to Kate Middleton amid ongoing rumors surrounding her health, another insider has claimed that she may not be receptive to such moves. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has told OK! Magazine that Middleton is unlikely to entertain any advice from Markle.
“[I] don’t think Kate would ever consider Meghan – who spent such a very short time in the royal fold – as an appropriate or qualified person to give her advice or support.”
Bond further explained that Middleton would not be engaged in “tackling the family rift,” especially during a period when she is focused on her physical and mental recovery. While she suggested that any kind gesture from the former actress would be “politely accepted,” it may not alter the dynamics with her estranged sisters-in-law.
Middleton has not been in the public eye since December 2023 and was recently spotted with her mother following the surgery. While the Royal Palace has not shared details surrounding her abdominal surgery, they have stated that the Duchess of Cambridge will not resume her public duties until after Easter.
