Jensen Ackles played Soldier Boy in The Boys Season 3, a non-aging supe created by Frederick Vought during World War II. Ackles’ character was captured by the Russians when he was betrayed by his old team Payback. The Boys release him from the Russian facility and team up with him to take down Homelander.
During their interaction in the episode Herogasm, Soldier Boy tells Butcher and Hughie that he hooked up with a supe called Liberty during the ’50s. Both Hughie and Butcher appear to realize that he was referring to Aya Cash’s Stormfront here. The closeted Nazi supe also had a romantic relationship with Homelander which weirded out fans for one reason.
Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy And Antony Starr’s Homelander Dated The Same Supe
Aya Cash‘s Stormfront was a major antagonist in The Boys Season 2. She replaced Translucent in The Seven and shortly after became Homelander‘s lover. She was a Nazi and used her position to promote white supremacist agenda. She revealed to Antony Starr‘s character that she was Clara Vought, the first test subject of Frederick Vought’s Compound V, whom she later married.
Stormfront’s Nazi history and relationship with Homelander was uncovered by The Boys. She is crippled by Ryan’s heat vision in the Season 2 finale and she later commits suicide in Season 3. When Jensen Ackles‘ Soldier Boy tells them about his romantic relationship with Liberty, Hughie and Butcher quickly realize that he is talking about Stormfront.
Fans are weirded out by this relationship as Soldier Boy and Homelander dated the same woman. Interestingly, it was revealed that Ackles’ character is the biological father of Homelander. The scene from the series, where Soldier Boy confirms his relationship with Stormfront, was posted to X after The Boys team announced a spin-off with Ackles and Cash.
Remember when Soldier Boy confirmed that he interacted with Stormfront AKA Liberty?

Fans in the comment section trolled the weird love triangle. Fans also hoped that Homelander would come to know about this little detail and embarrass himself. They also shared the possibility that Stormfront was Homelander’s mother, making it all the more gross. Some of the fan reactions read:
She was his firecracker 😭

THIS was my thoughts exactly that we could see the formation of Herogasm in this upcoming prequel series.

The Boys Season 4 ended its last episode by featuring Ackles in a post-credits scene. The new President Calhoun takes Homelander to a chamber where Soldier Boy remains in a drug-induced slumber. It is expected that he will play a vital role in the final season of The Boys.
Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash To Lead The Boys Prequel Series
When The Boys team appeared at the Hall H panel during San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, fans were in for a surprise. They announced the prequel series, Vought Rising, which would star Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash. Ackles appeared in person for the announcement while Cash appeared via a video.
It is the third spinoff project from The Boys universe after Gen V and The Boys Presents: Diabolical. Paul Grellong, the executive producer of the original series, will serve as the showrunner. Grellong and Eric Kripke shared about the series (via Amazon Studios):
We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys. It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.
Both Ackles and Cash will serve as producers, while the old team behind the OG series, including Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg, will serve as executive producers. Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios will produce the series in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
The Boys and its spinoff series are now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
