Back in 1994, Brad Pitt starred alongside Tom Cruise in their gothic horror film, Interview with The Vampire which also featured the 11-year-old Kirsten Dunst.

Pitt’s character, Louis de Pointe du Lac was turned into a vampire by Cruise’s Lestat de Lioncourt. To keep Louis by his side, the latter turned a dying girl, Claudia into a vampire with the duo raising her together. During one of the scenes, the little vampire, Claudia portrayed by Dunst had to kiss the former which was quite bizarre to imagine but the film director, Neil Jordan addressed that concern.

“She was so young that it worried me at first, because you realise this kind of [project] is going to define a child actor in ways that they themselves don’t understand yet.”

He praised the actress for being a professional,

“But working with her, I ended up having none of those reservations – she was so obviously going to have a career in acting. She understood the scene so thoroughly, so there was that security in my mind, you know?”

Even though the scene was a complete success, the Spider-Man actress shared her thoughts on the “disgusting” act to kiss her co-star who was way older than her age.

The 41-year-old actress got candid about kissing 33-year-old Pitt at the time when she was just a minor. She stated,

“Yeah, it was gross! I stand by that. It would have been so much creepier if an 11-year-old was like, ‘It was great.’ You’d be like, ‘There’s something wrong with this child.”

Though she shared that she was “treated like a total princess on set,” it still was completely different from how she felt about her smooch scene with the Bullet Train actor. The scene, later on, became controversial as many felt that the innocence of the father-daughter relationship was jeopardized with a little peck on the lips that Dunst did being a child.

On the other hand, the film garnered major attention due to the extreme competitiveness between the main stars who continued to showcase their conflict several times.
