In 2021, actor Ryan Reynolds appeared in an interview on SiriusXM and explained that his wife, actress Blake Lively doesn’t get the credit for what all she has done,
“There’s a lot of A++ writing that I’ve done that was actually Blake; Blake would jump in, grab the keyboard and [say] ‘What about this?’ And I’d be like, ‘That’s incredible.'”
Ryan Reynolds has appeared in many blockbuster hits, all thanks to Blake Lively. The work done by her laid the foundation for those films.
Blake Lively helped in creating Deadpool
Ryan Reynolds gained a lot of recognition for his portrayal of Wade Wilson/Deadpool in 2016’s Deadpool. The actor revealed that Lively also played a crucial role in the creation of that movie,
“She’s helped me so much in Deadpool, all kinds of movies that have been big successes. She’s always got a lot of bricks in that wall. I write on a lot of my movies. It’s been a survival mechanism for me for a long time. Sometimes I’m credited, sometimes I’m not.”
Reynolds also highlighted that he always told directors and producers about Lively’s work but it’s of no use as she always gets sidelined.

Thankfully, there is healthy competition between the two and Lively doesn’t mind if Reynolds gets credited. The actor further explained the root of this problem,
“Maybe it’s cause there’s inherent sexism in the business. I will say that a lot of times, ‘She wrote that, Blake wrote that not me. That was her’ and it’s like, they still, later on, repeat the story as ‘I wrote it.'”
Reynolds and Lively first met in 2010 while filming Green Lantern. At the time, Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johannson while Lively was dating Leonardo DiCaprio. Fast forward to 2011, Reynolds got a divorce from Johannson and Lively ended her relationship with DiCaprio and rumors about their romance began to spread.
