During the skit, the host called the Civil War actress a “seat filler.” She picked her up from the seat and sat at her seat, where Plemons replied that it was his wife that she asked to get up.

Schumer said, “Here’s a seat filler. Honey, do you want to go to the bathroom? Jesse, I love you in Power of the Dog.” Jesse Plemons replied, “You know, that was my wife, Amy.”

Schumer gave a surprised reaction to Plemons’ comment and asked him, “You’re married to that seat filler?” It was an awkward moment at the event that raised many eyebrows, as many fans did not like the way their favorite actress was disrespected at such a prestigious event.

Hey I appreciate the love for Kirsten Dunst. I love her too! That was a choreographed bit she was in on. Wouldn’t disrespect that queen like that.

A fan had shared a clip on their Instagram, showcasing the skit, and the comment box had an overwhelmingly negative reaction to it. The viewers commented,
