Before Boruto, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden is considered one of the greatest anime to be ever made. After years of struggle, when Naruto Uzumaki wore the Hokage cloak, it was a tearful moment for the fans. At the end of the anime, it was announced that fans would get to see more of Naruto with the then-upcoming Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The fans had mixed feelings regarding the news.

After its release, many people disliked it as it did not follow the manga. But slowly and steadily, it developed itself and followed the manga. The last few chapters have been tremendous and showed several turns of events. The latest chapter had the whole Naruto world upside down. Boruto Chapter 81 leaks showcased a post timeksip era, which featured Shikamaru Nara as the Eighth Hokage.

Fans React to New Hokage

Boruto Chapter 81 leaks have shown a lot of shocking things. But arguably, the most surprising is that of Shikamaru becoming the eighth Hokage. After seeing the Hokage cloak around Shikamaru, the fans were convinced of the new Hokage. Naruto fans think this to be a humiliation to their favourite character, Naruto Uzumaki.

But many people saw it differently. They believed that Kakashi Hatake should have been the Hokage. He had experience and was a better candidate for the role. Even Sarada Uchiha had a dissatisfied face when seeing him. She told him that she would always idolized Nanadaime (seventh hokage).

A similar kind of incident happened in the Naruto universe in the past, when Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, once again took his Hokage status after the Fourth Hokage’s untimely death. Even Masashi Kishimoto astonishingly tweeted, “The 6th Hokage is greatly missed”.

Even though Kakashi had lost his Sharingan and was now old, he still had the experience and was a veteran. Few fans even went as far as to mention that Shikamaru used Danzo’s strategy to become a Hokage.
