Jump Festa 2024 already introduced the fans to several new anime along with ongoing anime that are going to light up in 2024. But after New Year, the announcements seem to continue. The latest anime to enter the 2024 list is Honobu Yonezawa’s magnum opus, Shoushimin.

Honobu Yonezawa is a popular name among the anime fandom due to his previous creation, Hyouka. Hyouka became a popular show earlier in the last decade. Yonezawa has a habit of writing stories that are simple and can be understood by the common people. After Shoushimin’s teaser release on January 12, 2024, the fans have begun to expect another masterpiece from Honobu Yonezawa.

After the end of Hyouka, Shoushimin is the first anime adaptation of Honobu Yonezawa. In between, he wrote several books like Mangan and Imasara Tsubasa to Iwaretemo. His upcoming anime is scheduled for July 2024, and Lapin Track will look after the animation works. The story follows two teenagers who get entangled in strange situations even though their goal is to be simple lower middle-class citizens. The teaser is a minute long and introduces the two main characters of the anime.

Apart from the teaser, the main cast and staff were also revealed. The anime is set to adapt the first couple of volumes of Shoushimin. The first volume is named ‘The Spring Special Strawberry Tart Case,’ and the second one is named ‘The Summer Special Tropical Parfait Case.’ The episode number is yet to be revealed. Since two volumes will be covered, people can expect a fair number of episodes in season one.

Honobu Yonezawa began writing Shoushimin more than a decade ago, and finally, in 2024, people can enjoy it worldwide. The mangaka has already proved his worth by creating Hyouka.
