The game was first released for PlayStation 2, then Xbox and PC, and in 2012, a remastered version was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game’s psychological horror story often makes it hard for one to play it alone and in order to tackle this problem, a gamer has been looking for a companion.
In a Facebook Marketplace ad, a gamer posted an ad looking for someone who will sit with him while he plays Silent Hill 2. The ad was posted on the r/playstation subreddit and fans agree that the game is so scary that looking for a companion for it is completely valid.

Reddit user LopsidedBrilliant464 posted a Facebook Marketplace ad on r/playstation which was titled, “Sit with me while I play Silent Hill 2, so it’s not scary.” Due to the scary atmosphere of Silent Hill 2, this gamer is having a hard time playing it alone, but we don’t blame them since Silent Hill 2 has been labeled as one of the scariest games of all time.
The gamer is looking for someone over the age of 18 who can sit with them for 10 sessions, which are 2 hours each. For this job, you will get paid $15. Some may feel like this is a piece of cake, however, given how scary Silent Hill 2 is, this gamer should be offering much more.
What made Silent Hill 2 so scary?
Silent Hill 2 was praised for several things which included its psychological horror story, taboo topics, atmosphere, graphics, monster designs, soundtrack, sound design, and emotional depth. The player controls James Sunderland, who traverses through the monster-filled town of Silent Hill as he searches for his deceased wife.
The game was released in 2001 but was remastered for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013. Now, once again, Konami is planning to release a remastered version of the game for new consoles. Due to the poor performance of Silent Hill: The Short Message and Silent Hill: Ascension, some fans doubt if the franchise will retain its true horrifying nature, especially in the remastered Silent Hill 2. For now, of course, fans can only wait until the release of the game.
