The Boys has several supes, with some being actual heroes and others being more reality-laced diabolical ‘superheroes’. A parody of other well-known celebrities and characters, The Boys takes the concept to the next level. Yet, Erin Moriarty’s Starlight remains one of the only good supes in a world wrought with corruption.
Having significantly grown since her first appearance in season one of the show, the supe lately has been a laughing stock in season 4 of The Boys. Being unable to use her powers throughout the season, the character shocked everyone when she finally gave a taste of her formidable powers in the season 4 finale of the series.
Erin Moriarty’s Starlight Proves She is Not a Force to be Reckoned With
Erin Moriarty’s Starlight, for the better part of The Boys season 4, has been treated like no less than a doormat. Despite being one of the protagonists and main voices against the Vought, the supe has been barely the formidable superhero she was introduced initially as in the series.
Despite being quite powerful, the character lately has been badly treated and subjected to gruesome insults and humiliation. And her not even fighting the treatment she is often subjected to, makes her character growth in this season even worse. While there are other aspects of the character that fans have not liked this season, her being unable to use her powers has been the most problematic aspect of Moriarty’s character so far.

However, shocking everyone in the season finale, Starlight’s powers are back and just in time. In the season finale, she is confronted by Cindy as Hughie Campbell and her try to flee the country. While Hughie is captured by the Voughts, Annie January aka Starlight gets her powers back, just in the knick of time, and flies away to freedom.

Erin Moriarty’s Starlight eventually ends up ‘losing her powers’ in The Boys season 4, after struggling to use them for a variety of reasons. However, the season finale brings back the Starlight fans have adored since the season of the show. While it has been shocking and welcoming to see her finally use her powers, the ferocity of her powers has left fans baffled.

Now the only official member of The Boys, apart from Billy Butcher, being free, fans anticipate some epic feats are in store for the character in season 5 of the show. Finally having gotten her powers back, Starlight is sure to get stronger and fiercer in the upcoming season, and fans can hardly wait to see Erin Moriarty in action.
