Working on a show like Saturday Night Live is not an easy feat, as Andy Samberg recalled in a candid conversation with Kevin Hart on the Hart to Heart talk show. The actor added that during his stint on the show between 2005 and 2012, he barely slept and revealed just how demanding the job was. He added:

Physically, it was taking a heavy toll on me. (Further) Between writing for the live show and churning out digital shorts every week, “it’s basically like four days a week you’re not sleeping, for seven years.

During his seven-year stint on the show, he was also the lead of the Lonely Island trio. Further, his digital shorts, namely I Just Had S*x and Motherlover, immediately became fan favorites. But his situation on the show worsened when his trio partners, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, left SNL in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

This scenario left Samberg as the sole creator of digital shorts for his final two years on the show, further exhausting him.
