Sharon Stone considers breast implants the reasoning behind developing a tumor

Sharon Stone is no new to cosmetic surgeries, as ever since suffering a “massive stroke and a nine-day brain hemorrhage,” the actress has undergone several of them. However, while undergoing a breast reconstruction surgery to fix her chest, the surgeon gave her breast implants during the process, without Stone’s prior consent. This led to the actress confronting him, who thought that “I would look better with bigger, ‘better’ b–bs.”

But following the breast implants, she eventually developed a tumor, bigger than her breasts, which led doctors to believe that she might be suffering from breast cancer, which didn’t end up being the case. She recalled,

“[I was] told that I had breast cancer, because I had a tumor that was larger than my breast — and they were sure that I couldn’t possibly have that tumor without it being cancer,”

However, even though it wasn’t the case, the actress wasn’t afraid about the matter and even encouraged other women suffering from the disease to be brave.

Sharon Stone encourages women suffering from breast cancer to be brave

Although the large tumor she had on her chest might be a result of the implants, Sharon Stone didn’t budge when she was initially told that she might have breast cancer. Being the brave Hollywood icon she is, the actress told the doctors to take her breasts out if this was cancer, saying “I am not a person defined by my breasts”. And while attending the fundraiser for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund, the actress gave an inspiring speech to the women who are suffering from breast cancer, asking them to not be afraid. She said,

“And that might seem funny coming from me since you’ve all seen them. But let me tell you something else — you’ve seen them since the surgery, and you don’t know it. So don’t ever feel compelled not to get a mammogram, not to get a blood test, not to get surgery, because it doesn’t matter. I’m standing here telling you I had one and a half and more tissue of my breast removed, and none of you even knew it.”
