Ryan Reynolds recently made an appearance at the Bring Change to Mind’s 11th Annual Revels & Revelations Gala, which is a mental health-focused nonprofit co-founded by actress Glenn Close. He talked to Page Six about how he struggles to maintain his mental stability and control his anxieties and reveals that he mediates to achieve peace and solace in his life. He said,

“Not always great, to be honest. I certainly have my own little rituals and those kinds of things that help me stay grounded and keep my mind from spinning out of control Sometimes I’m really good at it, sometimes I’m not. I tend to overbook myself when I’m spiraling that way. I’m sort of aware of that stuff and I manage it as well as you can.”

It is certainly refreshing and even inspiring for celebrities to show their vulnerable side to their fans. It makes them relatable and shows their honest and humble nature. It brings home the point that they also suffer from the same insecurities and problems just like any common man.

Tom Holland recently talked about the challenges to his mental health while promoting The Crowded Room. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he talked about how playing the character took a mental toll on him, amidst attaining sobriety after a hard struggle with addiction. He said,

“I’m no stranger to the physical aspects of the job doing the whole action-movie thing. But the mental aspect, it really beat me up and it took a long time for me to recover afterwards, to sort of get back to reality. I was seeing myself in him, but in my personal life.

I remember having a bit of a meltdown at home and thinking, like, ‘I’m going to shave my head. I need to shave my head because I need to get rid of this character.’ And, obviously, we were mid-shooting, so I decided not to … It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.”

Holland also emphasized that learning more about mental health from medical experts also helped him greatly in his personal life as well. He is currently taking a year off from acting as he wants to spend quality time with family and friends.
