Sonic Superstars is just a couple of weeks away from release. But ahead of that launch on October 17, there is more Super-Speed Sonic action to be enjoyed with the latest DLC for Sonic Frontiers.
The Story DLC titled ‘The Final Horizon‘ is available to download now, and according to Sega, it adds new missions along with other content. With it, players can head back to Ouranos Island and get stuck in the additional stories.
What’s the Latest on Sonic Superstars?
For those fans who aren’t up to date with the popular Sega franchise, the next instalment of Sonic The Hedgehog and his trusty friends is due to launch on October 17 and is an old-school side scroller.
Players can play as either Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, or Amy Rose, and is in 2.5D and was developed by Japanese studio Arzest. Some fans may recall that this is the studio that is run by the mascot’s original creator, Naoto Oshima.

Sega has described the game as starting on the mysterious North Star Islands, where players will discover never-before-seen environments and a mysterious storyline awaits.
Enormous creatures, exhilarating adventures, and evil plans from Dr Eggman await Sonic and his friends, who can now obtain brand-new abilities known as the Emerald Powers when Chaos Emeralds are collected.
Before that, we have Sonic Frontiers and what is even better about The Final Horizon DLC is that it is completely free, so there is no reason not to jump aboard and experience the additional missions.
The latest DLC, which is confirmed to be the third and final addition, will join its predecessors, ‘Sight, Sound, and Speed‘ and ‘Sonic’s Birthday Bash’, which were released in March and June of this year, respectively.
Going by the initial responses on Social Media, the latest DLC is being well-received by fans;

I LOVE SONIC FRONTIERS UPDATE 3 I’m so excited to play it again even though I know I’m gunna be stuck fighting all 3 bosses on extreme mode – @FloppyzYT
However, it seems that some fans are struggling with the difficulty of the DLC, and it is not without its flaws. Despite this, the overall consensus is that it’s really enjoyable. Sonic will go toe-to-toe with an old rival, as Super Mario Bros. Wonder is due to launch three days after Sonic Superstars. But which title will come out on top?
