Sony might’ve just leaked some big news for Helldivers 2. And if it’s true, doing missions on Hellmire is going to be a completely new experience.

It looks like the next Warbond is a fiery-packed bundle that hints at having an extremely useful mechanic that could make Hellmire feel like a child’s playground. Sony might not have wanted to leak this intentionally, but players aren’t anything less than happy to see it.

Sony Leaks Helldivers 2’s Next Warbond

Sony must have it out for Helldivers 2. After a couple of mishaps, it’s leaked upcoming context for the game… again. In place of the description for the current Viper Commandos Premium Warbond on the PlayStation store, there’s a description for something completely different.

While it seems like a mistake, fans are nonetheless extremely excited about it. The description points toward the next Warbond, titled the ‘Freedom’s Flame,’ which says:

Dial up the temperature to cremate our enemies of justice, Helldivers! The Freedom’s Flame Premium Warbond is deploying to your Destroyer’s Acquisitions panel. Includes fiery weapons, life-saving armour, cool capes, fresh emotes, player cards, and patterns.

The Warbond sounds like an absolute blast, with people sounding more into it than the Viper Commandos Premium Warbond that is currently available.

What’s more, is that the description makes it sound like there might be some heat-resistant equipment available. If that’s the case, this could be super helpful when traversing fire-filled areas; not just Hellmire, but any other fire-filled challenges that may come your way.

Could This Be the Best Warbond Helldivers 2 Has Seen Yet?

This Warbond could be exactly what our fellow Helldivers need to gain an edge over the enemy. Especially for the brave soldiers who risk their lives by continuing to do missions on Hellmire or using flamethrowers, fire-resistant armor could come in handy.

If you’ve seen a picture of Hellmire, you’d know exactly why it earned that name. Flame-resistant armor would make things significantly more manageable.

I wonder why the planet is called “Hellmire”?

People aren’t sure that Arrowhead will be so generous as to give its players flame-resistant armor. One player guessed it might just be another medic stim armor, while another said it could be flame-resistant—just by a measly 5%.

More people share the same fears. We know the game has a balancing issue that even CCO Johan Pilestedt has confirmed, so there’s a chance the team is playing up a mediocre piece of armor in the description.

The team did recently mention that it’s changing up the way it approaches Warbonds by reducing the amount it pumps out, focusing on quality over quantity.

Plus, with Pilestedt getting hands-on with the game, there might be a chance the new equipment is quite useful.
