During Sony’s press conference at CES 2020, PlayStation President and CEO Jim Ryan took to the stage to discuss major milestones for the PS4. He also was able to share some details about the PS5, including a look at its logo.

Presently, all we know about the PlayStation 5 is that it is scheduled for a Holiday 2020 release, which Ryan further reiterated during the Sony presser. He also gave consumers a look at its logo ahead of the console’s official reveal.

Like prior generations, the PlayStation 5’s logo is rather simplistic. The only detail that separates it from the PS3 and PS4 is that the numbers have been replaced with a five numeral. It is a reminder to consumers that this is the next evolution of where Sony hopes to take the gaming system.

Ryan was able to announce that more details about the PlayStation 5 will be discussed with the public at a later date. With us still being fresh into 2020, we still have plenty of time to speculate when Sony could host a special reveal event for the PlayStation 5. It has been suggested that Sony may potentially hold its reveal event in February or March, but that has yet to be confirmed. However, there is precedent for Sony to reveal consoles fairly early in to the year ahead of their releases. They previously hosted their PlayStation 4 reveal event in February of 2013 before its worldwide release during the holiday season that same year.
