For all the people who claimed that “animation isn’t cinema”, the latest piece of some spider action just broke the record on IMDB. Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse went over and beyond people’s expectations and gave people…cinema.
As per the reports, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse became the highest-rated animated movie of all time on IMDB. Within 4 days of its release, the Sony project achieved a greater feat than what the MCU wanted for quite a long time.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Broke MCU’s Record!
Back in 2018 when Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released, people were livid at the amount of intense animation used in the movie. Depicting the story of Miles Morales, the convoluted story went above and beyond to include a bunch of more Spider-people to help the hero in his search for himself.
It was quickly announced that a sequel to the 2018 film was in the works. People hoped that the sequel would deliver on its promise to be greater than the original. Much to people’s surprise, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse went above and beyond people’s expectations as the movie turned out to be just the cinema that the world needed.
In a Twitter post, it was revealed that within just 4 days of its release, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse broke MCU’s record by becoming the highest-rated animated movie on IMDB.

The movie received a record high of 9.1/10 on IMDB and 95% on Rotten Tomatoes which is quite the number for an animated film. Fans couldn’t help but praise and congratulate Sony for their big win in the world of animation and the multitudes of Spider-Mans who got their time to shine in the Spider-Verse.

Well, that’s what you get when you enter the Spider-Verse and literally countless variations of the superhero cause chaos all around. As per the reports, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse earned a whopping $69.1 million on its opening night! This has been the biggest opening night collection of any movie in the year 2023.
As per the reviews, the varying frame rates, and the comic style from the original movie have been intensified in the 2023 film. The reviews even went as far as to allege that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse may just win the award for the best film of the year, “animated or otherwise”.
