The Saturday Night Live alum, Taran Killam revealed to Us Weekly at the John Dewar & Sons Traveling Whiskey Emporium in West Hollywood of his romantic story.
He shared that a strange U-turn paced up his heartbeat which eventually led him to understand that Cobie Smulders was the one for him.
The story goes like this,
“It was hot and heavy a month in,” Killam told the magazine. “She was driving me around and suddenly she did a U-turn for no reason and I was like, ‘What is happening? What are you doing?’ And she was like, ‘Sorry. It’s something I always do.’”
No doubt, an unexpected move during the road trip led him to understand what his heart wanted. He shared, “I was done” as he recalled that the MCU star had seen a little girl at a lemonade stand. The duo tied the knot in 2012 and now share two daughters. While many marriages lose their sparks at some point, this is not the case with the duo. Smulders never gets shy to gush about her love life with her husband as she once shared in a TV appearance.
Cobie Smulders Gushes Over Her Husband, Taran Killam
In a 2019 appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan, the How I Met Your Mother actress shared a glimpse of her marital life with her better half. While the pair married at the age of 29, she revealed that they were only 22 when they met one another.
She called herself ‘lucky’ for meeting the love of her life as she shared via PEOPLE,
“Isn’t he just a dream?” she said of Killam. “I’m a very lucky woman. This magic happened 14 years ago. We’ve been together since we were 22 years young. We were babies and we survived our 20s together — I don’t know how that’s possible, but we did. It’s crazy.”
She further went on to share how the duo met each other at a friend’s birthday bash.
“We were 22, the friend was turning 30, so we were like, ‘This chick is super old. Whoa,’” she recalled. “We met and got along and he thought I was also 30. So it was a really funny meeting of like, ‘When were you born?’”
The duo has continued to balance their personal and professional lives, prioritizing their children in every aspect. Their immense love and respect for one another also contribute to their successful marital life.
