Recent revelations from a court filing and various social media posts shed light on a disheartening incident where one of the numerous backers of the crowdfunded anti-child trafficking film, Sound of Freedom, was allegedly arrested for being an accessory in kidnapping. On the other hand, the movie itself, starring the talented Jim Caviezel and based on the real-life story of Tim Ballard, has enjoyed remarkable success. Since its captivating debut on July 4, Sound of Freedom has amassed a staggering $149 million at the domestic box office, triumphing over box office giants like Mission Impossible 7 and Fast X in terms of profit.
A Sound of Freedom Funder Was Alleged to be an Accessory in Kidnapping
In a captivating portrayal, Sound of Freedom takes the audience on a journey through the heroic efforts of Operation Underground Railroad and its visionary founder, Tim Ballard, brought to life with remarkable finesse by Jim Caviezel. However, amid the film’s triumph, an intriguing twist emerges when Fabian Marta, who faced charges of being an accessory in kidnapping, is seemingly connected to the movie.
Marta is one of the investors in the movie, and he posted about the same on his Facebook page. Though it attracted some backlash after he was allegedly charged with being an accessory in kidnapping, all the charges against him were later dropped. According to reports by Snopes, there was no kidnapping.
Jim Caviezel’s Sound of Freedom Beats Fast X and MI movies in the Box Office Game
In the heart-pounding action film of 2023, titled Sound of Freedom, Alejandro Monteverde takes the directorial reins and co-writes a gripping tale. The star-studded cast, led by Jim Caviezel, alongside Mira Sorvino and Bill Camp, sets the stage for a riveting tale of Tim Ballard, a former US government agent portrayed by Caviezel, as he fearlessly embarks on a perilous mission to liberate innocent children from the clutches of s-x traffickers in Colombia.
Sound of Freedom has emerged as the 13th highest-grossing film of the year in the United States, surpassing even some blockbuster productions boasting massive budgets and star-studded ensembles in terms of profit. It outperformed the likes of Fast X, a film with a much bigger budget and star power, featuring prominent names like Vin Diesel, and Jason Momoa, which garnered around $155 million since its opening on May 19. Additionally, even some films from the Mission Impossible franchise were also left trailing behind the unexpected success of the film.
