One of the best feelings from the first game was seeing swarms of enemies get obliterated as a hulking Captain Titus walked through the battlefield. It gave a real sense of a war being fought on all fronts and also reinforced the deadly nature and prowess of the Space Marines.

Now, fans hope a dedicated horde mode will be added to Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 to relive this feeling easily. Reddit user juanc2312 posted to the Spacemarine subreddit, expressing his excitement for the game. While they are “beyond hyped,” they hope that Focus Entertainment will include an endless horde mode in the game.

They state they can even do without the PvP or the story mode! This would be surprising for the developers, who have surmounted some challenges to adapt the lore into Space Marine 2.

Many fans seem to agree with OP’s sentiment.

One commenter is unsure why such a mode has not been added to the game, as the groundwork already exists from the developer’s previous works.

The game has shown off some horde fighting, but this was more of a PvE mode, which was part of a larger mission. A dedicated, endless version could be the perfect time sink for many fans.

Space Marine 2 Reveals Some Fan Favorites Didn’t Make the Cut

The community may be asking for a lot of stuff in the game to make it the ‘perfect’ experience, but some inclusions didn’t make the cut. One of these is the Retributors, which are confirmed to have been left out of Space Marines 2, but that is not the only piece of bad news. There’s also information to hint that the Astartes sequel is canceled entirely!

It’s been kept under wraps for a while, and there is no official admission from Games Workshop regarding this decision. So, by omitting the Retributors from the upcoming title, the franchise can avoid bringing attention to a project that is awaited but may never see the light of day.

While the hype is constantly growing for the new release, the excitement is felt outside of the community too. If the game is successful, it may catalyze a domino effect where more developers see there is a market for fun, single-player titles that keep the gameplay mechanics from the early 2010s.
