Spider-Man 4 Theory Redeems a Storyline Sam Raimi Desecrated 17 Years Ago, Sets up Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man 3

SUMMARY

  • Spider-Man 4 will probably see Tom Holland tango with the piece of symbiote that was left behind by Tom Hardy's Venom during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
  • A theory suggests that Holland's Spider-Man will carry the symbiote till the events of Avengers: Secret Wars, where he will let go of the suit upon the advice of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man.
  • Andrew Garfield 's Spider-Man would then take the Symbiote to his him dimensions, which would be Sony's Spider-verse, where the character would dawn the symbiote to make his work with criminals easier.

Spider-Man 4 is a film that a lot of fans are looking forward to, especially after where No Way Home left Peter Parker. He was wiped from the memory of everyone who knew him, leaving him without any friends or family. This Peter Parker essentially had to start from scratch, and will probably be rubbing shoulders with street-level vigilantes like Daredevil and The Punisher, before he gets to become a part of anything like the Avengers.

However, despite most of the plotlines of the film being wrapped up, there are certain exciting threads that fans want to see explored in future installments of the franchise. One theory that has been floating around online not only wishes to tug on this thread but also uses it to set Sony’s version of the Spider-Man universe straight.

Thanks to the bungled-up spell, Tom Hardy‘s Eddie Brock found himself in the MCU and left behind a part of the symbiote. The symbiote is bound to make contact with Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker and will give him the iconic Black Suit that defined the character’s run in the Secret Wars era of the comics.

However, this would leave Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker as the only Spider-Man to have not received the Black Suit, which the theory also rectifies. According to the theory, proposed by Redditor Reasonable-Truth-612, Peter Parker of the MCU will receive the symbiote and carry it forward till Avengers: Secret Wars.

Following this, Secret Wars will bring back Raimi’s and Webb’s Spider-Men, who will counsel Peter on getting rid of the suit. However, this would be the perfect setup for Andrew Garfield’s Peter to use the symbiote to combat the problems in his him dimension, which can turn out to be Sony’s Universe of Spider-Man characters.

Why would Andrew Garfield’s Peter take the symbiote?

Andrew Garfield‘s  Spider-Man has had it tough. From what audiences were told in Spider-Man: No Way Home, this version of Spider-Man is still having a tough time dealing with the fallout of the events of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Given that this is the case, it would seem odd that Tobey Maguire‘s Peter and Tom Holland’s Peter would be okay with the character taking the Symbiote. The theory suggests that Garfield’s variant of the character would belong to the same dimension as Sony’s Universe of Spider-Man characters. This would mean that Garfield’s version of Peter would be responsible for returning the symbiote to his it’s home dimension.

This would also allow Garfield to try and use the symbiote as a cheat cod against the various villains that he would have to face, as using the symbiote would not only make his work as a vigilante more efficient, but it would also free up more time for him to do ‘Peter Parker things, something we know he has been struggling with.
