Fortunately, the College actor is back and safe a day after Daytona Beach announced him missing and labeled Bell as endangered. A new report from TMZ has revealed the reason why police feared for his life.
Drake Bell Reportedly Threatened to Commit Suicide
Daytona Beach police announced on Thursday that the Drake & Josh star Drake Bell has gone missing. Fans of the 36-year-old actor were concerned after the police declared that his life might be in danger. The Spider-Man actor recently completed his probation over an attempted child endangerment and was seen with his son at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida, 24 hours before he went missing.
He was later found unharmed, and the deputies took appropriate action to ensure that he was safe and received a proper mental health evaluation. A recent report from TMZ revealed the reason police were concerned for Drake Bell.
The report suggests that the A Fairly Odd Movie actor had an argument with his estranged wife, after which he threatened to get drunk and hang himself. The revelation was made based on a 911 call recording in which someone from the Orlando Police Department was heard speaking with another department as they tried to locate Bell’s phone.
The officer in the recording described the situation as a “possible attempted suicide” as he said, “There is a celebrity who had a falling out with his wife.” Orlando Police Department got involved in the investigation after they were informed that Bell was in a hotel in Orlando, from where he threatened his family of committing suicide.
Who is Drake Bell’s Estranged Wife?
After dating for five years, Drake Bell and Janet Von Schmeling decided to get married, and the couple walked down the aisle in 2018. They have a son together, and both of them have kept their private life out of the limelight. The couple revealed their marriage publicly in 2021 with a tweet.
“In response to various rumors that are incorrect, I have been married for almost 3 years, and we are blessed to be the parents of a wonderful son,” they said in the tweet as they announced their marriage. However, the couple separated a few months ago as Drake Bell is trying to focus on his health and seeking help for substance abuse.
According to People, a source revealed that Janet Von Schmeling and the former Nickelodeon star separated a few months ago. However, their son is still their priority, and they have decided to maintain a “peaceful co-parenting relationship” for him.
The Superhero Movie actor addressed his missing news on Twitter, saying, “You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer for the night, and this?” However, people close to him are still worried for the 36-year-old actor, as he has reportedly been struggling with mental issues due to everything going on with him.
