When Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse first hit the theatres, not many could have anticipated the phenomenon that it would turn out to be. The animated movie went on to create waves, not only for its depiction of Miles Morales’ Spider-Man, but also for the idea it introduced us to – the first depiction of a Marvel multiverse. The multiverse meant that we would have an opportunity to witness multiple versions of Spider-Man over the years. While its sequel gave us a sneak peek at multiple versions, fans will be taken through one’s story in detail – Spider-Man Noir.

Spider-Noir, a live-action series coming from MGM Studios and Prime Video, is all set to chronicle the adventures of an aging (and one who looks down on his luck) private investigator in the 1930s, as he tries to grapple with his past as the one and only superhero of his city. This role will be essayed by Nicolas Cage.
Apart from the National Treasure star, Lamorne Morris had already been confirmed as one of the actors touted to join the series as a regular, playing the role of Robbie Robertson, a journalist who is willing to go the distance to ensure that his stories are not found wanting for more.

In a piece of news that will be music to fans who were very excited about the project is the fact that Li Jun Li is joining the series as well. The star of Quantico fame has been confirmed as a singer in one of the leading nightclubs in New York.
Her addition is a big boost to the series, which is helmed by co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot. They will be joined by the likes of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, who were also a part of the team that made Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The Nicolas Cage starrer seems to be in safe hands indeed. While many details about the show are yet to be confirmed, Harry Bradbeer is set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes of the series.
Fans go gung-ho over Li Jun Li’s introduction alongside Nicolas Cage in Spider-Noir

While fans are raving about the project, there are many details about her role that are yet to be released, with some even claiming that she might play Yuri Watanabe. In the Comics, she is one of Spider-Man’s allies, who also dons the cape of the vigilante, Wraith. If she is in fact introduced in the series, it will be a wonderful addition alongside Nicolas Cage’s titular character, bringing back a fan-favorite character to the fold.
The release date for Spider-Noir is yet to be confirmed.
