Jane Fonda has been a champion of women as she fights to end social injustice and violence through her civil works and advocacies. However, one of the most controversial statements she ever made was her pledge to never get any plastic surgery. This did not last long as the actress felt the need to seek the help of a doctor to fix her beauty.

She has been quite open about her surgery in public, and more importantly, she admitted feeling bad that she actually did it. Despite being comfortable talking about her operation in some of her interviews, her conversation with a former Fox News host caught her off-guard.

Jane Fonda Fired Back At Megyn Kelly After Bringing Up Her Face-Lift Operation

Jane Fonda previously shared her story on the New York Post and opened up about getting plastic surgery. The 86-year-old actress claimed the reason she decided to go under the knife was her concern about beauty and wellness.

I had bags taken out from under my eyes and the looseness taken out from under my chin. I did it because I got tired of walking down the street and catching myself in a window, looking tired — and I didn’t feel that way.”

In her conversation with Vogue, the Barbarella star confessed she was not proud of having her face operated on just to make her look younger. She also pointed out that many actresses in Hollywood undergo the same procedure, and they end up looking botched.

We all know a lot of women who are wealthy who’ve had all kinds of facelifts, and things like that, and they look terrible. So, I had a facelift, and I stopped because I don’t want to look distorted. I’m not proud of the fact that I had [one].”

In a controversial interview with Megyn Kelly via Entertainment Tonight, Fonda was asked about her plastic surgery instead of focusing on the topic which was her project, Our Souls at Night.

You’ve been an example to everyone in how to age beautifully and with strength and unapologetically. You admit you’ve had work done, which I think is to your credit, but you look amazing. I read that you said you felt you’re not proud to admit that you’ve had work done. Why not?

Obviously, Fonda was not impressed by the question. She immediately retorted, “We really want to talk about that now?” The actress further suggested they better talk about her movie instead of plastic surgery.

Fonda admitted feeling shocked about the question and noted that it was quite bizarre to bring up the topic of her operation when the interview was about her then-latest project. She stated that she had explained about it in her previous interviews, and it seemed out of place to talk about it in the show.

Rosie O’Donnell, actress and television producer, was irked by Megyn Kelly’s question to Jane Fonda so she took to Twitter her fury and wrote: “Megyn Kelly is a moron – spineless wanna be barbie – she sucks and so does her show.”

In more recent news, Megyn Kelly has been under fire again for her remarks about The Boys star Erin Moriarty on her YouTube channel which forced the actress to quit social media. The host commented:

It’s not about an objection to plastic surgery. It’s about an obsession with turning yourself into this fake version of yourself. I find it, like, a sign of mental illness. It’s extremely upsetting. It’s a massive turn-off to me. I just really want to get in the heads of these young girls and say: ‘Please don’t do this.’

Moriarty claimed that the photo used in the video clip was taken a decade ago and went on to slam Kelly on the allegations about her plastic surgery. The 29-year-old actress received a lot of support from fans and her co-stars before ultimately deactivating her Instagram account.
