Its creator, Eric Barone, better known as ConcernedApe on X, is very active on the platform. In a recent post discussing some updates about the game’s PC version, another user commented on never charging for content or expansions. Barone said he would never do that, swearing by his family—something few would say.
It Seems That All Expansions of Stardew Valley Will Continue to Be Free Forever
This RPG, where the player controls their farm, manages it, and engages in various classic mechanics, has become a popular title worldwide. More than nine years after its launch, Stardew Valley continues to add periodic content for players to enjoy small changes in the game’s features.
The game was developed by Eric Barone, who has become a very popular personality in the industry.
In a recent post on X, Barone mentioned a PC update and other issues, and a user commented about the price of upcoming downloadable content.

The developer promised the user that he would never charge for any downloadable content or updates for this title, and he even dared to swear by his family.
Barone Continues to Release DLCs for Stardew Valley
Naturally, the developer’s initiative regarding future Stardew Valley DLC was praised by all users. Not many companies or developers would even dare say something like this to maintain credibility with fans.
Barone is a beloved figure in the industry, having broken a significant barrier with this independent title that achieved an immense amount of sales.
The game’s popularity is such that the developer even released his own cookbook in reference to everything seen in the title. Few IPs have achieved the fame of this game with such a simple yet effective aesthetic.
Each new update adds various new mechanics to make the gameplay experience completely different, especially for veteran players.
The creator of Stardew Valley is already working on another new title called Haunted Chocolatier, with an aesthetic quite similar to his first game but with entirely different mechanics.
In this title, players will be able to control their own store, manage it to improve sales, and attract more customers. Everything indicates that this new IP will also be a resounding success for this developer.
