ConcernedApe, the creator of Stardew Valley, the farm-life simulator, announced the update 1.6 back in April 2023 and has been teasing a lot about the upcoming update. Although the update will have something for everybody, the developer has also announced that it will mostly bring changes for modders and make it easy for them to mod.
ConcernedApe also announced that update 1.6 will have content “much less than 1.5.” The developer has now given a “sneak peek” at the upcoming plethora of content in update 1.6, and it has much more than just changes for modders.
What Will Stardew Valley Update 1.6 Have for Players?
Contrary to what the developer had announced previously, update 1.6 will have a lot more than just new dialogues and tools, including festivals and quests. The developer has posted on X and revealed what players can expect when update 1.6 drops.

- A new major festival
- Two new mini-festivals
- New late-game content, which expands on each of the skill areas.
- New items and crafting recipes

The multiplayer in Stardew Valley currently supports four players, and eight-player support will give a boost to the game. However, there’s no release date announced for the update yet, and as there are small adjustments and additions as well as new secrets and more in the list, there could be some extra content that players could get apart from the ones mentioned in the list.
The revelation of the changes gave a glimpse of new outfits coming to the game and also showed three distinct colored frogs. There is also apparently a new secret gift box and a new ticket type, or at least that’s what it looks like. There is also a figure of a man donning a robe and sunglasses, along with a green starfruit and a strange fish machine, among other things.
