It’s almost been a year since Starfield‘s release, and since then, people have looked past what it initially had to offer. Those who didn’t connect moved on, while a dedicated and sizeable player base stayed. The discourse is lively, and the game has been on a steady incline, but it’s still far from perfect.

For those things fans feel like they’re missing out on, mods are the way to go. One Redditor is searching for a specific NG+ mod that would turn up the horror and appeal of this game for the masses.

Starfield’s NG+ Needs Something Like This

The NG+ system in Bethesda’s open-world space RPG is one of its most interesting facets.

Most other games have it where you start over the whole game but keep your clothes, skills, levels, and other things, but the world and quests are reset like it’s the first time.

This game plays it differently. The NG+ feature throws your character into an alternate reality; the lore explanation for this is intertwined with Unity.

The world you set foot into isn’t completely ‘fresh’ either, and there’s no way to reset it to the way it was before you started NG+.

NG+ starts with the Constellation confronting you as usual, or it could be another character. There’s a chance it’s another ‘You’ from a different universe.

(XBOX) Is there a mod that would let me start main quest over and spawn “Alternate Universe You” as a companion?

After nine NG+ playthroughs, one player is ready to spice things up. Appealing to other Redditors, they request an Xbox mod where they can start their 10th NG+ run in a completely fresh universe that’s not been affected by the Starborn.

But they still want to be able to spawn in an alternate universe version of their character and have them as their companion.

Luckily for OP and any other interested players, the Starfield modding community has just what they need.

One reply pointed to a couple of mod that could get the job done. Choose Your Universe by Aurelianis allows players to pick their alternate universe, giving them control over which reality they dive into next.

Midas Manor Player Home mod by Dialectric, which lets you spawn an alternate version of yourself into the universe.

Combine these, and you’re well on your way to the ultimate multiverse experience.

Another suggestion was the DarkStar Emissaries mod from WykkydGaming. It lets you bring a companion from a previous reality into your new game and turn it into a Starborn.

It’s the kind of eerie, reality-bending fun that feels in tune with the rest of the game.

Do you know of any mods that achieve this kind of alternate-universe madness? Or do you have any ideas for pushing Starfield into even weirder territory? We’d love to hear about them in the comments below!
