Starfield has given a lot of freedom to their players in the massive open world. Players can even do activities that might be detrimental to themselves at the cost of facing its consequences. However, there is one thing that Starfield allows its players to do that has always been an absolute red zone in every space fiction ever made.
Recently, a player in the official subreddit of Starfield posted a video of themselves roaming freely next to their spaceship. Starfield has been putting great examples of flexibility and creativity on the table since it was brought to attention. However, doing something that can be grave for their own health is something even players are surprised about. However, as Bethesda promised that players can explore the space, they took it very literally and have been using this amazing loophole.
How can players exit their spaceships in Starfield?
A Redditor who goes by the username WeirdConcern4666 posted a clip of themselves exploring an asteroid while floating around in space. The only thing that a player will require is a jetpack. And what is more impressive is that the game doesn’t prevent players from doing this.
Xbox fans will be disappointed to know that only PC players can cheat into the vast space and explore it at their own expense. This is unfortunate for Xbox users as venturing into the space with just jetpacks requires the use of console commands, so it’s only stuck to PC players.
In the thread, user WeirdConcern4666 explained how other players can do it. They’ll need to be in space, obviously, and in the cockpit of their spaceship. The catch to these criteria is that the players shouldn’t be sitting on the chair. Then, they can open console commands and type, “player.setpos x 10”. Followed by “setgravityscale 0”.
This would result in players being able to float around space at their own leisure. The user also said, “to deactivate just use your scan to teleport to the ship and then setgravityscale 1”
This would revert the gravity back to its default settings.
Did Bethesda plan this, or is it another bug in Starfield?
This occurrence hasn’t been confirmed by Bethesda officially. However, it might not be entirely out of the box to ponder what DLCs the developers of Starfield have planned for their players in the future. Even though it is just for PC players right now who can implement console commands, it would be very thrilling if players could stealthily climb up other ships. This will make Starfield the ultimate space pirate game that many players might have been expecting since its release.
