Last year saw the release of one of the first Bethesda-exclusive Xbox games, but not all fans enjoyed this space exploration experience. Despite fulfilling its promises, Starfield received only average reviews and did not receive a nomination for Game of the Year.
The studio that makes titles like Doom or Fallout confirmed that a new expansion for the space exploration title is in development. Shattered Space is the name of this DLC, set to release sometime this year. In the meantime, fans can enjoy an excellent and amazing new mod.
This Starfield mod will keep you occupied while you wait for Shattered Space
After Xbox acquired Bethesda and the whole Zenimax group in 2020, only a few games were released as exclusives, titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Redfall, and Grounded, all titles that will not accomplish a lot of sales for Microsoft. There was one exclusive that the entire fanbase of Bethesda was waiting for with a lot of anticipation and hype, especially after incredible IPs like Fallout or Skyrim; this title was Starfield.
When the game was released, fans expressed dissatisfaction as the company failed to deliver on several promised features, resulting in an average experience that did not even garner a nomination for Game of the Year. Despite being one of the most anticipated exclusive Xbox games, this space exploration game failed to meet players’ expectations. Bethesda is still very focused on regaining the player’s trust and working on more content for the game.
What’s next for this Xbox exclusive?
Bethesda announced a DLC for Starfield before the game even came out, projected to launch sometime this year. Shattered Space is the name of this expansion, which promises new areas to explore, weapons, and an entirely new story to uncover.
At the moment, fans can enjoy a new mod for the game that has even more content than any DLC could bring. Galactic Colonies Expanse is the name of this mod, which significantly expands the game’s possibilities.
The Galactic Colonies Expanse is available on Nexusmods. This mod has the possibility to build giant space mechs—a whole colony on any planet with some very spectacular architecture. The mod is an extension of the Build Your Home mod, both of which share the same creator. Various features, like a production line, will also introduce new mechanics, such as having to give food to your NPCs.
Starfield was a moderate success for Xbox; some rumors suggested that the PS5 would also receive this title. Later, Phil Spencer debunked this, and Microsoft, for the moment, will not launch this game on any other platform. Bethesda is really trying to make a hit game for the Xbox ecosystem. Exclusive titles on the Microsoft console are still not very popular, and the company has a lot of problems making a real hit.
