If there’s one title that has grabbed the bulk of the public’s attention in recent times, it’s Starfield. Bethesda’s brand new RPG has attracted millions and has had an incredibly successful launch. Most expected the game to pull huge numbers, but records have still been broken with the release of Starfield on Xbox and PC (as well as Xbox Game Pass). Officially released on September 6, the game has become Bethesda’s biggest game launch of all time.

The game is Bethesda’s first ever venture into the space exploration genre of video games, and being an Xbox exclusive made it a huge deal for Microsoft. It’s safe to say that their gamble paid off, as Bethesda has developed an incredible role-playing game that is as successful as it is great.

With its massive scope and size, the game has officially become Bethesda Game Studios’ most successful launch ever, with over six million players across both Xbox and PC, surpassing the likes of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. The official Twitter/X account thanked its fans for their continued support for the title.

The game’s excellent role-playing systems, fun gameplay, and gorgeous visuals are taking the world by storm, and that is reflected in the game’s player count. The game had over one million concurrent players across all platforms, as revealed by Phil Spencer in a post on Twitter/X. This figure includes the collective player bases of Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. It seems like including the game on Game Pass Day One was a smart call, as players all over the world are absolutely loving their very own space odysseys.

Currently, it is unclear how many players in that massive figure were specifically from Game Pass. But we can assume that a good chunk of them were. As compared to the game’s $69.99 price tag, the monthly subscription that costs only $16.99 seems much more appealing. Nevertheless, it’s all worked out in the game’s favour.

It seems to many that Xbox has finally gotten back on its feet after a first-party exclusive game drought. The game has become the poster child of Microsoft’s platforms, and it’s definitely deserved. Overall, the game has been an absolutely record-breaking success, and we cannot wait to see how Bethesda will improve the game with even more updates and patches.
