Starfield has been a popular game topic ever since its release on September 6, 2023. It’s an action-adventure game with plotlines set in space and inter-planetary adventures.
As the game provides many different amazing features for players to explore, some unique ones, like being able to create and customize one’s personal Starfield ship, have been generating more unique creative works from many players. One of the iconic creative Starfield ship design displays was created as an homage to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’s famous long ladder scene.
Creative Starfield Ship Designs
This design was originally created and posted by Hostgr on Starfield’s Subreddit page, featuring a ship with a very long ladder. The ladder is so long that, at one point, the player could barely see the floor.

According to the clip, one could observe how long the shop is as the pilot keeps ascending through multiple floors with no signs of stopping. Who knows where the ladder ends?
Player Hostgr made references about designing the ship with respect to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. He also noted that he intentionally designed the ladder to be very long. But there’s still one major unanswered question: what does the outside of this ship look like? The creator, in a follow-up comment, stated:
I am trying to build a Naglfar from Eve online , it is a Dreadnaught type shop, and it’s vertical (vertical superiority ). Needless to say my ship doesn’t resemble it yet…
The feature to allow players to build and customize a Starfield ship has allowed for numerous creative ship designs that are even more impressive. For example, a master craftsman designed an Imperial Destroyer from Star Wars, along with a 21-page guide to explain how it’s done. This and many others have sure made the game much more fun for players to enjoy.
Tips for Designing a Starfield Ship
In Starfield, there’s an interesting feature that allows players to completely change one’s ship’s stats and design. Designing a spaceship in Starfield can be tricky, as spaceships have all manner of complex stats and factors to balance depending on the ship’s modules and one’s personalization.

Nevertheless, one could build a spaceship however they please, as long as one has plans on how to design it. When choosing the class of Starfield ship that’d be needed for one’s craft design, the following are some points to note:
- Every ship needs a cockpit, as this is where all the important aspects of flying happen.
- An engine is also needed, but don’t forget that it needs to be powerful enough to power the ship’s mass; too small and the ship won’t be going anywhere.
- What good is your ship without fuel? Don’t forget that this needs to be able to accommodate the length of your voyage. It’s not going to be the most fun if you run out of fuel in deep space.
- The reactor within your ship is the basis of which the rest of the ship is built. It is the part of the ship that determines what parts can and cannot be used, as well as the class of your vessel.
- It’s great to be able to fly the ship, but landing gear mustn’t be forgotten, as they’re needed to prevent crashing into the ground. It’d be a waste to make the trip if you can’t explore once you arrive.
- Let’s not forget the Grav Drive, which allows you to jump across gravity. Remember, the more you upgrade this, the further you can jump.
