Starfield is quite possibly the most talked about video game headed to players before the end of 2023. The Bethesda Game Studios title has had a massive following since it’s an announcement, and almost every gamer has their eye on the success of the upcoming space odyssey. Starfield is not only be the largest game Bethesda has ever released, surpassing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4, but many see it as one of the most important Xbox exclusives to ever hit the market. Now, with a little over a month until its release on October 6, gamers are being told just how much impact their choices will have on the 30-40 hour main story.

In a recent interview with Jamie Mallory, a producer for Starfield, the Bethesda employee talked about what players can expect from side quests and faction missions. The producer discussed how there are plenty of adventures to go on and plot lines to explore, even outside of the main story. In the interview which is on the Bethesda website and linked at the bottom of this article, she says the following:
“The amount of content packed into these faction storylines is truly astonishing. It’s like embarking on a grand adventure within an adventure, where every choice you make and every interaction you have shapes the course of the tale. The character development, the plot twists, the moral dilemmas—I’ve been completely hooked! These quests offer a chance to delve deeper into the game’s rich lore and uncover hidden gems that add layers of depth and excitement to the overall experience.
So, my fellow gamers, I urge you to take a detour from the main storyline and explore the fascinating world of faction quests. Trust me, the rewards are well worth the extra time and effort. Prepare to be enthralled by the intricate storytelling and immersive gameplay that awaits you. It is easy to tell Mallory is enthusiastic and excited for gamers to experience Starfield. And it is certainly encouraging to see that those involved with the game are as energetic as the fans. When those who have spent years developing a game express their love for the title, that’s always a sign the intellectual property is in good hands.
The Entire Starfield Story May Seem Small, But the Galaxy Is Great
Those who have kept up with Starfield have expressed concern that the storyline is too short. As previously mentioned, the main plot is expected to be completed by players in 30 to 40 hours. Although this seems like very little time, Mallory has assured observers that there is much to do in the vast galaxy.
As previously announced by Todd Howard, there are 1,000 planets players can visit in Starfield. While only 10% of these planets will have life, there is enough to explore for hours past the main quests. Gamers who want a full experience and to take advantage of all the resources in the game, will definitely spend more than 30 to 40 hours traversing through outer space.
Starfield is coming in the very quickly, and nothing is slowing down the momentum of the title. Bethesda Game Studios has announced a DLC expansion called Shattered Space, a Starfield themed Xbox controller, a Starfield headset, and collectors edition. It is a property that has been in development with the studio for over 25 years and is expected to see a huge release when it drops on Windows and Xbox Series X/S.
