It is good to see a lot of preparation going into the game in anticipation of what is due to be one of the biggest titles of the year, alongside Xbox needing a well-needed showstopper in order to get its Series X cemented as the powerhouse it has claimed to be.

Preloading on anything in this generation is advised, good to see Starfield has jumped the gun.

In preparation for the huge game, pre-loading is advised to get cracking on launch

With the games content, it is not unusual to see it would be pushing the boundaries of any hard drive space, with this game in particular the breakdowns are as follows, for the PC the game size is 139.84GB and for the console it is 100.19GB for the standard edition. Additionally, there is also the premium edition of the game on Xbox and this is 117.07 GB for the Premium Edition which includes a DLC pack (The Shattered Space Story Expansion) as well as other items including the official soundtrack.

With readily available expansion items for the Series X, you have to ask yourself if is now the time to upgrade to the next SSD in order to really experience the power behind the console. With the Expansion SSD these can start from £150 / $149.99 for 1TB so they are not cheap, however, considering the game is readily available on Game Pass it might be worth biting the bullet for.

Just how big is Starfield, is anything off limits?

Many questions are waiting to be answered surrounding this game, considering Bethesda’s past attempts at open world and open world exploration within games we know the content is in good hands, however, what we don’t wish to see is a launch title similar to that of No Man’s Sky. With No Man’s Sky we got promises of so much and what we saw of the game on launch vs current state are two VERY different games.

The pressures behind this game are very big with the already flopped Redfall releasing earlier in the year for the Xbox, Bethesda and Xbox have now got to make up for that with Starfield by showing us a ton of content and gameplay alongside developer interviews regarding the title they have really started to build the hype.

With games having a habit of launching unfinished with day-one updates, patches and general fixing after the original launch it is hard to believe a game of this calibre and size is likely to launch without a few issues. However, gamers can go one of two ways, if the issues are minor it is less likely to cause grief, more a minor inconvenience but if the game has unplayable sections then it is more than likely to end up in hot water.

Space exploration, multiple planets, ships and cabin crew, we can only hope Starfield delivers

With over 150,000 lines of dialogue, this is the biggest script Bethesda has ever drafted, with tons of characters to interact with, tons of story content and world-building, this is by far their most ambitious project to date.

With previous games like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, we can get a rough idea of how this game will play as they have more than likely expanded on those games with the idea of exploration being a main focus of Starfield. However, the game’s action and FPS style look very similar to the DoomWolfenstein series which will be absolutely solid if they end up coming off how they appear.
