The popular PlayStation 5 exclusive action game Stellar Blade is mere days away from launch. From the time it was announced to this moment, the game has amassed a large number of fans. A community has formed around this title that is pretty hyped about getting their hands on this action game. One of the most talked-about aspects of this title still remains its protagonist, Eve.

She is unique in a number of ways. For one, she is the first female protagonist in a number of years who actually looks above average. For many gamers, this seems to be a strong reason to just go for this title. For others, the gameplay became the prime reason for being hyped for it. But one massive personality has his own reason for loving this upcoming game.

Yoko Taro cannot get over how good Eve looks in the Stellar Blade

Known for his numerous massive action games, like Nier Automata and the Drakengard series. His success touched the skies with his third-person hack-and-slash title, Nier Automata, which became an incredible success.

The game was known for a bunch of things: its combat, its visuals, its mind-blowing story, and, of course, its protagonist, 2B. She had a very distinctive look to her that many people criticized, while others accepted with open arms. Yet, most of this was overlooked thanks to its story.

Now that Stellar Blade is getting a lot of traction, many players cannot help but compare this game to Nier Automata. It makes sense too; they both have a number of similarities between the two of them. For one, both games feature attractive female protagonists and hack-and-slash gameplay mechanics. Both of them take players on a journey through a destroyed world.

Sighting these similarities, some have decided to call this game Korean Nier. This did not affect Stellar Blade’s director in the least, as he embraced this comparison. He even stated that he is a big fan of Neir and that it is an honor to be compared with Yoko Taro.

Yoko Taro, on the other hand, caught a glimpse of the Stellar Blade and his own views on it. He instantly fell in love with the character of Eve and the game’s visuals. Suggesting that the characters of the game are cute and the visuals are of next-gen quality.

“Stellar Blade is a really amazing game. I’d say that it’s much better than NieR:Automata…

The graphics are completely next-gen quality and the character design’s direction is amazing. The cool male characters and cute female characters unique to Mr. Kim’s style are really appealing…

Stellar Blade actually makes me quite jealous.”

This is quite a compliment coming from the legend himself. Of course, he loves the game, as his own style of making and designing games is similar to that of Stellar Blade. The only difference between these two games is that they are released on different consoles and made on different engines.

Fans might remember that Nier Automata was developed by Platinum Games, a studio well-known for crazy action games. Over the years, they have worked on titles like Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance and Bayonetta. It’s a big deal when a new game like Stellar Blade gets compared to those hit titles.

There’s a serious lack of hack-and-slash games in the industry

While Stellar Blade is trying to rectify this problem, fans would agree that there’s a shortage of action hacks and slash games on any platform. The last big game launched in this genre was Devil May Cry 5, which was then launched as a special edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox series consoles.

Maybe if Stellar Blade turns out to be a success, people will start seeing more such games. There are high chances of it being a success, too.
