Well, it seems the controversy isn’t limited to just Stellar Blade. People are now speaking about exaggerated body movement in a genre where one wouldn’t expect such physics to even be a contributing factor. It seems farming sims are now also taking jiggle physics seriously.

Typically described as ‘cozy games,’ farming simulators are a relaxing experience, allowing players to live out their agriculture lifestyle fantasies from the comfort of their couch. Titles like Stardew Valley and Farming Simulator focus on delivering a fun experience that doesn’t create much stress.

However, the developers of Farm Folks are now facing a bit of heat from netizens. The life simulator has added jiggle physics to its character models, leading some gamers to question its necessity in the game. The Stellar Blade controversy is much the same, and that’s a title aimed at adults. So, the inclusion of it in a farming sim is quite puzzling.

Through a series of messages from the game’s official Discord server, we see community members and managers interacting with each other regarding this topic. A now unavailable tweet gained a lot of traction, calling out the team for adding jiggle physics and an intensity slider to the game. A few community managers responded to the queries, giving their reasoning behind the feature.

The responses ranged from justifying the decision to questioning the need for a controversy surrounding it. Streamer Kirara Lala wonders why there can’t be a more adult-focused farming simulator. Alex Koshelkov, founder and CEO of Crytivo, chimed in and stated the team focused on developing realistic physics for a variety of in-game interactions. Hence, the studio felt it made sense to also work on jiggle physics to be consistent.

The studio founder made it clear that the idea wasn’t to over-sexualize the characters but rather to offer realistic visuals. While Stellar Blade has not employed a similar defense for its accusations of movement exaggerations, a lot of effort has been put into Eve moving and flowing dynamically.

While this may seem like something that should fly for an M-rated game, Stellar Blade is currently experiencing a rocky launch. It was stated the game would be released uncensored globally, but at launch, people have observed a toning down of gore and changes to Eve’s outfit.

This has led many people to speak out against false advertising. It’s gotten to the point that Sony is even offering refunds to people who feel they were deceived by the studio into buying the game. Others in the community are pushing back against this narrative and calling the entire debate over the top.
